Kevan d'Albenas is an animator and illustrator living in Fort Myers, Florida . When not spending his time attempting to view every good film that most people fail to take notice of, he works as a freelance artist to those in his local area and through the internet.

At an early age, animation on television and film greatly inspired him and led to his pursuit in art. Through education, a passion for the classic arts was born, yet his passion for the power of the animated medium would never subside. He investigated into the filmmaking process and discovered that often times the art that goes into visualizing a film, both animated and live action, is as beautiful and fascinating as art hanging in a gallery. Curiosity into special effects and a new medium led to a B.F.A. in Computer Animation from the University of Central Florida .

While feeding his undying need for learning new things, Kevan has discovered many different passions that, while never eclipsing his love for the visual medium, are very dear to his heart. A glimmer of piano experience and a needed escape from Phys Ed led to an unexpected penchant for the bass trombone and band music. This would evolve to a decade of involvement in various symphonic and marching bands, shaping much of his social relationships and mental attitudes. Music is a very powerful thing, and serves as a huge influence in nearly all of Kevan's artistic works; his belief is that the visual and aural arts are forever entwined, and the better for it.

During college education, another interest of his was the study of Anthropology, in which he earned a minor at UCF as well. This was partly inspired by his interest in apes and monkeys, and led to a wonderful education in development and sensitivities of various cultures as well as physical anthropology, in particular the study of our good relatives the primates. Here is where Lemur Visions comes from, as the very distinctive eyes of our prosimian cousins always seemed to be able to see the world in such a breadth of detail and wonder. Granted they're missing out on the whole red thing, so it's more like watching the world through a faded Technicolor print, but that's just a technical detail.

Kevan's influences come from a wide range of artists: illustrators, animators, painters, and filmmakers. Some of his key influencers include Brian Froud, Hayao Miyazaki, Chuck Jones, Jan Svankmejer, Alan Lee, and Tim Burton. As music has also become a key part of his art making experience, he also gives credit to many musical composers and groups such as: They Might Be Giants, XTC, Danny Elfman, Stan Kenton, and Brian Wilson.
